About Dave WDP Medical's founder and principal trainer is William David 'Dave' Powell.

Dave qualified as nurse in 1994 after leaving the military. Initially working in Critical Care and gaining a degree in Critical Care Nursing then moving into Coronary Care Nursing.

Dave's nursing career has seen him travel all over the world. He has led teams of medical personnel providing emergency medical treatment in conflict areas, organised and assisted in emergency repatriation, worked as an off-shore medic, a remote areas medic and a ship's medic. He has led teams of staff setting up and then providing primary healthcare in a number of different countries and used his experience in India to volunteer and help set up clinics in areas of need. He is also experienced in the Care of Tropical Diseases.

Dave's expansive career not only means he is qualified to teach a wide variety of healthcare topics but it gives him a real life working knowledge and experience of these topics.

This knowledge and experience makes Dave and enthusiastic trainer, he prides himself on ensuring all candidates feel involved and all needs are catered. The teaching sessions are interesting, informative and enjoyable for all.

Healthcare and First Aid Courses catered to the individuals needs WDP Medical have a wealth of real life healthcare experience, meaning we can offer you practical as well as theoretical training, based on actual experiences in clinical settings.

Our principal trainer, Dave Powell, has worked all over the world in many different settings. Candidates on our courses often comment on how enjoyable our courses are due to Dave's enthusiasm for the subjects he teaches and that he has real 'hands on' experiences to share with candidates, making the courses interesting for everyone.

We offer a variety of courses catering for all levels, whether you are a housewife/husband wanting to learn First Aid, a shop needing to train staff in Emergency First Aid at Work or a Healthcare Establishment wanting to ensure your employees are up-to-date with current practice or offering them the opportunity to learn new skills. We also offer courses in Basic Life Support and the use of AED's (Automated External Defibrillator).

All our courses are listed on our website wdpmedical.co.uk but if there is a course you would like but do not see it listed please contact us either by telephone or email and we would be happy to cater a course to your needs.

All professional course (ie Nursing Homes, Gyms, Nurseries, Sops, Shopping Centres) are delivered on site but we run courses at various venues across Scotland to allow individuals to attend (please call for details).
